Discover the Secret Path to an Open Heart

18 August 2023

Be honest for a moment. How often do you say "I am grateful"? And to be even more honest: how often do you truly mean it? Because it's quite easy to say something, but to really feel and mean it, that's something else. Walking your talk is a rare quality.

When I dig deep within myself, I must confess that I have a tendency to focus on all the things that are not going well or could be better. I always have a strong drive to improve myself, to learn more, to master a technique better, and check things off my to-do list. This can lead to me overlooking the things I already have.

Don't get me wrong: I am incredibly happy with that immense drive I have, always seeking the next layer, the next level to discover. This is how I grow every day. Leveling up. This is how I gain new insights every day, which I then share with you!

But there's also a shadow side to all of this. Sometimes I feel like the Very Hungry Caterpillar (do you know that children's book?) always wanting more, more, more. Always in motion, never taking the time to let the new knowledge settle in, because then I might risk getting bored.

And here's a big confession... it often prevents me from truly being in my heart. Opening my heart genuinely remains a struggle (yes, really!) for me. I feel that my heart isn't open enough, and then I start to battle with my heart. It's as if I'm forcefully trying to pry open a jam jar lid that just won't budge. Forcing my way to access my closed off heart energy. But that's not how it works.

By being in silence and softening my attention, I can also soften and open my heart. Ohhhh how  I would love to live with an open heart at all times! I can become quite envious of people with such beautifully open hearts. Loving vulnerability.

How do I achieve that? What can I do? What can I be?

And the Guides gave me an answer:

"The path to an open heart is through gratitude. Focus on gratitude and let the energy of gratitude flow through your heart completely. It will soften, nourish, provide safety, heal, and do whatever is necessary to open your heart.

The vibration of true gratitude is connected to the vibration of peace, one of the highest frequencies you can experience in your reality. The more you allow gratitude, the more relaxation can arise in your system. This way, you open the door to peace in your heart. A grateful heart is a heart full of peace."

Wow! A heart full of peace. How beautiful that sounds. I want that! And I wouldn't be Inge if I didn't immediately put that into action. As of today I'm going to do a 30-day gratitude challenge! Because I love to experiment! 30 Days dedicated to gratitude; every day an exercise related to gratitude, and every night before I sleep, I'll focus my attention on everything I'm grateful for, so I can sleep with an open heart!

Will I succeed with opening my heart? Who knows? What will I do in this challenge? No idea!

What I do know is that I'll delightfully share my insights with you throughout my journey through my newsletter. Stay tuned!
