From Fatigue to Enlightenment: How I Transformed My Tiring Day into a Spiritual Revelation!

1 September 2023

Tired and happy for the opportunity to sit down, I looked at the sign that was prominently placed in front of me at the little café where I had collapsed after a long day of strolling through the city. My friend and I had gone to a city in Germany for a long weekend, and as usual, we had wandered through the city for hours until I could hardly take another step.

I had spotted a charming café where we could grab something to eat and take a rest. It was filled to the brim with signs, each displaying various sayings. There was just one table available, and I was so relieved to finally sit down. My gaze fell upon the saying that was placed at our table.

Today is my favorite day!

How incredibly fitting! Especially since I am deep into the 30 Days of  Gratitude Challenge, this motto resonated with me completely. Divinely placed, it felt like a message meant just for me.

The thought intrigues me. How do you live as if today is your favorite day? How do you feel then? What do you do? And is it even possible to... live as if today is your favorite day? These questions are closely related to the 30 Days of Gratitude Challenge

Is it possible? I mean... what if you have to go to the dentist, how can that ever be a favorite day? How can you be grateful for having to go to the dentist? Yes, I know I can be grateful that I can at least go to the dentist and that when you have a toothache such a visit is a blessing. This way, you can see the beauty in everything.

Isn't it a form of spiritual bypassing? Where you use spirituality to avoid looking at certain shadow aspects; everything is light and love from a higher-dimensional perspective, but here in the trenches of the 3rd dimension, you can experience it quite differently!

I asked the guides:

"We are pleased that you've embraced the message. It's not so much about having a favorite day, but what we want to make clear is that it's not enough to merely feel gratitude. It's also about living gratitude, putting it into action.

It's the difference between passive and active. Feeling gratitude is step one, it's about opening yourself to gratitude, experiencing it within yourself, seeing it in the world around you. Finding things to be grateful for. And through the things you can't feel gratitude for, you realize what gratitude is. That's the passive part, you experience it, you open up to it, and it opens your world to miracles. It doesn't mean that everything you experience from now on will be all sunshine and roses, but during the big thunderstorm, you're aware that this will pass, and that there's going to be sunshine again. It's all part of the experience.

Then you're ready for the next step, the active part. How do you behave when you're grateful? What is your attitude of gratitude? How do you live when you are grateful, what actions do you take? You'll notice that events around you will bring you more messages. More opportunities to feel grateful, and it will become easier to follow your path and receive confirmation of your choices. Taking actions from the place of gratitude means taking steps in alignment with your path."

Inge: And what about the dark parts? Aren't you bypassing the shadows?

Guides: "In a way, you will  avoid some shadows. The path you choose will contain fewer shadows because you're living much more in alignment and need fewer obstacles. But it doesn't mean you don't need any obstacles. Sometimes the path reveals itself to you in the form of an obstacle. When you're in alignment, you can see that. It doesn't mean you won't experience 'negative' emotions, but they won't take over anymore. You're the one who decides what you want to do with them. Do you want to be carried away by emotions, or do you choose to use them as indicators?

We'll give an example. Physical pain is usually a sign that something's wrong. There's something you need to look at. When you're in alignment (or in gratitude), you use this indicator to investigate what's going on. Are you too close to the fire? Is your body indicating that it needs rest?

Be grateful that the indicator is doing its job. Be grateful for the clue. Take responsibility, even for your emotions. Gratitude also includes an element of taking responsibility. You can't shift the blame onto something else anymore; you're the master of your path. You have the ability to respond. Even if it doesn't feel that way."

Inge: It feels so heavy when you put it that way. Shouldn't it only be light?

Guides: "What's heavy about it? The fact that you get to take control? That you can play a more active role in your life? That life doesn't just happen to you, but you're consciously taking your own steps? Living only in an illusion of lightness is a form of captivity. And that's exactly what you came here to break. You're bringing freedom. True freedom, not the illusion of it. You want to outgrow the development stage of children, to become adults. That includes freedom of choice. Doing things, yourself. With all that you've learned. And your soul dances with gratitude that it's finally happening. Let it sink into your lives. One beautiful step at a time. Be grateful."
